What to Expect at the 2026 BCPDA Dealer Summit
Practical ideas. Timely industry insight. Real solutions for powersports dealers.
The 2026 BCPDA Dealer Summit brings BC's powersports industry together for two days of practical learning, candid conversation and valuable connections. This year's program is built around the issues dealers are facing now - profitability, changing market conditions, fraud and cyber risk, new technology, workforce development, customer growth and business resilience.
Across keynote presentations, focused workshops, expert panels and industry updates, attendees will gain ideas they can take back to their dealerships and put to work. The program also creates space for dealers, OEMs, lenders, suppliers, regulators and industry leaders to discuss the challenges and opportunities shaping powersports in BC.
Keynotes and Dealership Performance Sessions
Our keynote speakers will challenge dealers to look closely at how their businesses are performing and where the greatest opportunities may be hiding. Using dealership data, benchmarks and real-world examples, these sessions will explore what separates average performance from great performance - and how dealers can focus their time and resources where they will have the greatest impact.
- Good to Great - Examine what a healthy dealership looks like, the difference between good and great performance, and the top ten revenue drivers that can move the business forward.
- Training That Pays - Learn how to build a culture of training across the dealership and connect employee development to measurable results and return on investment.
- Finding the Money You're Leaving on the Table - Identify missed opportunities across dealership data, websites, digital leads, aging inventory, finance products and departmental performance.
- Your Most Overlooked Brand: Used - Explore how used inventory can become a strategic profit centre rather than a costly distraction.
Four Panels Focused on Today's Dealer Challenges
Business Continuity: How to Pivot When the Unexpected Happens
Tariffs, wildfires, access restrictions, supply interruptions and market shifts can affect a dealership with little warning. This panel will examine how dealers can identify vulnerabilities, manage through disruption and respond quickly when normal business conditions change.
Takeaway: A practical starting guide for reviewing a dealership continuity plan and conducting a simple business continuity fire drill.
AI That Works: Where It Belongs in Your Dealership - and Where It Doesn't
Two industry suppliers and AI experts will be joined by a BCPDA dealer member who is already using AI in their business. The panel will look at practical applications in lead response, customer follow-up, e-commerce and decision-making, while also addressing where human judgment and personal relationships remain essential.
Takeaway: An AI audit checklist, recommended tool categories and a clearer understanding of what to try, what to question and what to leave alone.
The Growth Market Hiding in Plain Sight: Women, Families and the Future of Powersports
Hear directly from women in powersports as riders, association leaders and representatives of trades and training programs. This session will explore how dealerships can better attract and retain women as customers, riders and employees - and why this is an important growth opportunity for the entire industry.
Takeaway: Practical steps for viewing the dealership through a woman's perspective and using an independent secret shop to uncover missed opportunities in the customer experience.
Protecting Your Dealership: Fraud, Cyber Risk and Finance Red Flags
Senior representatives from TD Recreation Financing, Santander and Yamaha Financial Services will discuss the fraud, credit and cyber risks they are seeing in the market. The panel will focus on how dealers can strengthen identity, document and application verification before submission, recognize warning signs and know when to pause and contact a lender.
Takeaway: A concise dealership fraud and cyber risk checklist covering the top warning signs, essential verification steps and immediate actions to take when something does not look right.
Industry Advocacy Regulatory and Government Updates
The Summit will also connect dealers directly with the organizations and decision-makers influencing the powersports business environment. Attendees can expect timely updates and opportunities for discussion on advocacy, regulation, licensing and land access.
- BCPDA, Moto Canada and special guests from the National Powersports Dealers Association will discuss advocacy activity on both sides of the border and why dealers need to stay informed and involved.
- BCPDA will provide an update on its strategic plan, current priorities and new member benefits.
- The Insurance Council of BC will discuss new licensing and training requirements.
- The Vehicle Sales Authority of BC will provide an update on the transaction levy and recent consumer protection changes, with an opportunity for dealers to have their purchase agreements reviewed by VSA in-house counsel.
- MLA Donegal Wilson, former Executive Director of the BC Snowmobile Federation, will speak about land access and effective government engagement.
More Than Presentations
The Dealer Summit is designed to create conversation, not just deliver presentations. Workshops, table talks and networking opportunities will give attendees time to ask questions, compare experiences and build relationships with dealers, OEMs, suppliers and industry partners from across the province.
